A new track has been cut through the heather alongside the existing track. This severly damages the heather, and is illegal. (these pictures were taken in June 2012)
These pictures were taken one evening on the upland heath on Beary Mountain west of Greeba Mountain. They show damage to the heather and the creation of new tracks alongside existing tracks by quad-bikes. Damaging the heather in this way can prevent it from growing back, it is illegal, and can lead to hefty fines.
